Desiderio Svara

Desiderio Švara was born at Ricmanje - San Giuseppe della Chiusa near Trieste in 1934.

He studied with known painters from Trieste Riccardo Tosti and acc. prof. Renato Brill, learning chiaroscuro and space distribution. Later he got diploma at the Art high school of Venice and the qualification in Bologna.

In the 70s he gave voice to the “Grupa U”, together with Roberto Kocman, Franco Vecchiet, Franco Volk, Zulian Boris and Eduard Žerjal.

In the 80s he was between the founders of »DZL«-group visual artists. At the present time he is active in »KONS«, a group of visual artists.

He lived a long time in France, in Latin America and in Martinica, in contact with the artistic expression of that area.

His first personal exhibition was staged in Trieste in 1958. Then followed in the 80s exhibitions in Italy, Slovenia, France and America.

He was present in the more than 350 national and international group exhibitions, where he was awarded of many prizes.

Moreover he followed 12 international symposiums in Slovenia, Austria, Croazia and Macedonia.
